What Max Daily Trades does
By Aiobot · Oct 6, 2026
Max Daily Trades is Guard’s sixth switch, and the only one that counts tickets instead of equity. You set how many trades the account may complete in the broker day. After the cap, extra entries do not stay open. The counter resets at broker-server midnight, with the other daily Guard limits.
What problem does it address?
Stacked trades in one day often raise risk even when each ticket looks small. Max Daily Trades stops additional entries after a count you choose. It is not a strategy and does not tell you when to buy or sell.
When does it run?
Only when Guard Smart Mode is Active. Neutral does not count. See how Guard works.
When does the counter reset?
At broker server midnight, together with daily loss and daily profit — not your wall clock if the server is elsewhere.
How does it sit next to the other layers?
Equity rules can still close the day if a loss or profit line is hit before the trade cap. Max Daily Trades is a count cap, not a dollar floor. A firm PDF “max trades” rule is the firm’s engine; Guard only counts tickets you ask it to. Daily and trailing dollar lines: daily vs max vs trailing drawdown. Stacking tickets after a red trade: revenge trading and overtrading. Challenge process: how to pass a prop firm challenge. Term: Guard.
